We're just a simple MMORPG where you may roleplay as any animal, a human, or fantasy creature.
What does "Black Souls" mean?
I was inspiried by "Black Butler" for the "Black" part. "Souls" is just something random that popped into my head.
What are the official websites?
This is the current official website.
What does "Black Souls" use?
Either 'Unity' or 'Blender'. It matters to our game developers.
How well will "Black Souls" run on my computer?
We don’t know, sorry.
How will it be released?
"Black Souls" will have a DEMO Download link first. Updates will be figured out later.
Is there an age restrictions?
13+, due to ProBoards resitrictions.
Is "Black Souls" free to play or pay to play?
It'll be free to play and always will be.
OK, when will it be out?
"Black Souls" doesn't have an official release date.
What will we be able to play as?
Anything.
Will each species have its own starting area?
It depends on how well our developers can code. I say they most likely should.
Will you add another species?
Not by request or demand. If we add another species, it’ll be a surprise. We won’t reveal anymore species. It takes a lot of time to work on each species. They all need their own animations, models, and textures. As you may have guessed, that’s a lot for just us few modelers and animators to do.
How big/small can we get?
Depends on your species.
Can we play as offspring models?
In order to cut down on unnecessary things and cut down production time, no. But you’ll be able to scale down your character, so use your imagination and bam, offspring.
Will we leave behind pawprints/hoofprints/etc in the snow/mud?
Most likely not, though there may be a slight chance.
Will there be a map?
Yes, of course!
Will the map be revealed all at once, or only show what you have explored so far?
There will be a colored map in the corner of the screen to show locations. It'll all be labelled. The map doesn't move!
Do the species have actions? Like wagging their tails, etc?
All species will have the same actions.
Will there be items?
Yes, of course.
How many items can we wear?
Right now 10, though the finale release will allow 15.
How do I get items?
Buying them or trading.
I can model! Can I make my own accessory?
We appreciate your enthusiasm, but at this time we're going to say no.
How many accounts can I have? Characters?
You may have one account, this account will be shared if you have siblings. For now, you can have unlimited characters, though this may change later.
Can we utilize powers in game?
No.
Can we utilize roleplay powers in game?
No.
Can ground-bound animals have wings?
Yes.
Can canines have manes?
All species will have the ability to have manes
Can I see an update of the models?
We will only show an updated models when we want, and if it is updated.
Is there a released demo to play?
Nope, sorry.
Will there be Players vs. Player [PvP]?
Yes.
I don’t like PvP, can I turn it off?
Yea.
How will PvP work?
You open the profile by clicking the item twice and using the "Attack!" button. To kill, use the "Finish Them!" button.
Will there be prey/hunting?
Yes.
Will the chat be censored?
Kind of. Staff will be moderating the chat in-game. If they see something they don't like and/or is against the rules, they may have the power to mute and/or ban you.
Will character names be censored?
Mildly. Character names cannot have symbols (Spades, Aces, Hearts, etc).
Is "Black Souls" Mac compatible?
Pretty sure it will work.
I want to help the staff, what can I do?
There’s lots of things you can do to help the "Black Souls" Staff team. If you ever feel that you have ideas or would like to talk about something that may help modelers, animators, programming or any other work the team does, feel free to apply when applications are open. Thank you!
Can I be staff to help in a more practical way?
We appreciate your excitement about wanting to be on the team, but you may have to wait until the applications for your desired Staff rank to be opened. If it already is, feel free to fill the forms!
Will there be presets?
Yes. Presets are characters, and in order to play ingame you need to create a character.
Why can’t we make custom maps?
Harder to moderate.
How will user created content be added/will it be added?
You will have to send them to カイプディング, she decides.
Will there be portals?
Yes, there will. We need portals (or some may call it, gates) in order to get to other maps.
What is the terrain like?
There will be multiple terrains such as grass, rock, dirt, lava, etc.
Will there be day/night cycles and weather changes?
Yes.
What will loading screens be like?
Plain and simple.
Are you accepting donations?
At the moment, no.
Can I donate directly to a paypal?
There are no current donations in acceptance.
Will "Black Souls" have memberships where users with a membership get things free users don’t?
No.
Will there be voice acting?
No.
Will there be non-player-characters?
Yes.
Can we have voice chat in game?
No.
Can we have an official chat box/Skype group?
No.
