Is it effective to censor parts of the media? That question. When I am thinking of answering that question, I realize that any answer might need to think about the complexities of the media, censorship, hegemonies, evil and good etc.... It seems to me, that the media has become a co-ruler along with the kings/queens of old, and perhaps has toppled many kingdoms since the printing press printed the first book. It is a big topic, the media and censorship. There are problems associated with censorship, but there are problems associated with allowing so-called 'freedom of speach' I think it is complex To be honest Jason, I think the media is actually using an object referred to in the holy bible, as being the dreaded 'image that speaks'..... Do you kind of know what I mean? |
